This policy describes what the Zmashers Android app — published by Mono-Z Studios (package com.zmashers.app) — accesses on your device, why we need it, how we use and share it, and the choices available to you. It is published to support the Google Play Data safety and privacy-policy requirements.

Who sees it
Other players see your name, nickname, avatar, sports and ratings. They never see your email address, home address, or contact number.
What we never ask for
We never ask for your Google password, your contacts, or the rest of your photo library. Camera and photos are used only when you choose to scan a code or pick an image.
Your choices
Turn chat or system notifications off, hide a player’s clips, block or report a player, and delete your account and its data in the app at any time.
How Google sign-in data is handled
What we access
When you sign in with Google, Google shares your account identifier, verified email address, name, and profile photo. We request only the openid, email, and profile scopes.
Why we use it
We use this information to authenticate you, create or locate your Zmashers profile, display your name and photo to other players, and protect your signed-in session.
What we store
We store your verified email address, display name, profile photo URL, authentication provider, and sign-in activity. Your Google password is never provided to or stored by Zmashers.
1. Who we are and what the app does
Zmashers for Android ("Zmashers" or the "App") is a sports community app published by Mono-Z Studios on the Google Play Store (package name com.zmashers.app). Players use the App to create a profile, discover opponents and teammates, organize and accept challenges, play and record matches, climb rankings and ladders, join teams, chat with other players, and find sports venues. Venue owners use the App to manage court schedules, bookings, payouts, and player updates. A companion website is available at zmashers.com.
2. Information we collect
- Account and profile information: email address, display name or nickname, password (stored only as a secure hash), and — when you sign in with Google — the name, email address, and profile photo Google provides. If you add them, we store your avatar photo, nationality or country, preferred sports, and skill level.
- Player activity: challenge and match results, ratings and reviews, rankings and statistics, team memberships, and the players you challenge, play, or chat with.
- Communication: messages you send to other players in the in-app chat, plus block and report records used to keep the community safe.
- Venue and location information: venues you save or favourite, custom venue names you set, and your general region or country. If you choose to use your current location to find a venue, that approximate location is used only for the search and is not published on your public profile.
- Photos and QR scans: photos you deliberately pick or take for your avatar or a venue, and QR codes you scan to accept a team or lobby invite.
- Device and technical information: an anonymous push notification token (via Firebase Cloud Messaging), app version, device model and operating system version for compatibility and troubleshooting, and the encrypted sign-in token stored securely on your device to keep you signed in.
3. Permissions the app requests
The App asks for the minimum permissions needed to work, and each one is only used when you use the related feature. You can revoke any permission at any time in your device settings.
Camera
Used only when you scan a QR invite to join a team or lobby, or when you take a photo for your profile or venue. Nothing is captured or uploaded without your action.
Photos / media
Used only when you choose an existing photo for your avatar or a venue. We never scan or upload the rest of your photo library.
Notifications
Lets us send push alerts for invites, challenges, match results, messages, and reminders. You can turn these off at any time in your device settings.
Internet
Required to sign in, sync your profile, load player data, and connect to the Zmashers service. No network access happens in the background beyond what you request.
The App does not request access to your contacts, calendar, SMS, or call logs, and it does not collect location in the background.
4. How we use information
- Create, authenticate, and secure your account and profile.
- Power challenges, matches, teams, rankings, and the leaderboard.
- Let you send and receive messages with other players.
- Help you discover venues and, where enabled, other players by sport, skill, or region.
- Send verification, invite, challenge, match, message, and reminder notifications.
- Support venue owners with schedules, bookings, and payouts.
- Prevent fraud, abuse, unauthorized access, and service disruption.
- Maintain and improve the reliability of the App.
5. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information and the App contains no third-party advertising.
Within the community: as part of the social experience, your display name, avatar, preferred sports, skill level, region, results, and rankings are visible to other players. This is what makes matching and leaderboards work.
With venue owners: if you book a court or interact with a venue, we share the booking details needed to complete it with the venue owner.
With service providers: we share data only with the providers needed to run the App — Google (sign-in and push notifications), Firebase Cloud Messaging (notifications), Cloudinary (image storage), Brevo (transactional email), PayMongo (payments), LocationIQ (geocoding and timezones), and OpenStreetMap (map tiles). These providers may process data only to provide their service to us.
By law or for safety: we may disclose information when required by law, to protect safety and legal rights, or to prevent fraud and abuse.
6. Google sign-in data
Information received from Google is used only for the authentication and account features described in this policy. We do not request access to Gmail, Google Drive, Google Calendar, contacts, or your Google password. Our use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
7. Storage and security
Your sign-in token is kept in the encrypted, platform-protected storage of your own device and is never transmitted to other players. Passwords are stored only as secure hashes, and all communication with Zmashers happens over encrypted connections. We apply reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, including access controls and secure coding practices. No method of storage or transmission can guarantee absolute security.
8. Retention and your choices
We keep information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the service, keep transaction and security records, resolve disputes, and meet legal obligations. You can edit or remove your profile details in the App, turn notifications on or off in your device settings, and revoke the App’s access to your Google Account at any time through your Google Account settings. To request access, correction, or deletion of your Zmashers data, contact us using the address below; to delete your account yourself, open the App and go to Account → Settings → Danger zone, or follow zmashers.com/data-deletion for exactly what is removed and what stays with other players. Some records may be retained where legally or operationally required.
9. Children’s privacy
The App is not directed to children and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13 (or the higher minimum age in your jurisdiction). If you believe a child has provided us personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.
10. Policy changes
We may update this policy when our practices or legal obligations change. We will publish the revised policy here and update the date shown above. Material changes will be communicated through an appropriate in-app or account notice where required.
